AARP & Rock the Vote -- A Happy Coalition of Leftist Fearmongering
Oddly enough, the conservative organiation that forwards itself as an alternative to the AARP -- USA Next -- is using a banner ad that critizes the AARP for being anti-soldier and pro-gay. If they were worth their salt in terms of political nuances, the group would highlight the fact that personal accounts would benefit those individuals who are in relationships not formally recognized by various religious and civil authorities.
Rock the Vote's website features powerful push-poll results -- showing that if the question is phrased properly even those who would most benefit from private accounts can be steered away from reform toward stasis.
The battle over reform will be won almost solely on how the issue is framed. Thus far, those championing the status quo are winning.
